Receive Instantly via RTP

Enable Real-Time Payments (RTP) to receive funds instantly from senders through the RTP network by The Clearing House (TCH). This functionality is ideal for platforms that wish to support RTP-enabled incoming transactions for their customers.

As the adoption of RTP grows, more Routing Numbers are becoming eligible, allowing broader access to instant payment capabilities.

Clients can enable RTP receive alongside other RTP capabilities: Send, and RfP.

Note: Before enabling RTP receive functionality, clients can verify if their institution’s US Routing Number is RTP-enabled, ensuring compatibility with the RTP network.

📘

Only for Routing Numbers Eligible for RTP

While you can receive instantly via RTP, it is possible only when the Sender Financial Institution also participates in the RTP network.

The Sender's Financial Institution initiates the origination of funds via the RTP network, and the RTP network then moves funds instantly into the TabaPay Client's Sponsor Bank.

Use Cases

The main use case for receiving instant funds are business-to-business (B2B) Payments and account-to account transfers (A2A).

How Receive via RTP Works

  1. Sender initiates RTP via TCH to the TabaPay Client’s user’s receiving Bank Account at Sponsor Bank. (Outside the flow)
  2. TCH receives the instant request and performs a credit transfer request to TabaPay.
  3. TabaPay forwards the credit transfer request to the Sponsor Bank to post to the TabaPay Client’s Account.
  4. TabaPay Client’s bank account posts instant funds to its user.
  5. TabaPay Client displays the final status to the user.

RTP Receive Reporting

RTP Transactions Received by RTP-enabled accounts are reported in the Transactions (Daily) Report. This includes both transactions that were 'Accepted' by the Sponsor Bank when funds are going to be posted successfully, and ones that were 'Rejected' by the Sponsor Bank when funds are going to not be posted.

TabaPay Client’s Sponsor Bank Obligations

To participate in Receive, the Client’s Sponsor Bank must ensure that they can receive the request for incoming funds from TabaPay, validate the recipient account, respond back to TabaPay when the posting of funds is successful, and then finally post funds to the recipient bank account.
