What this means for you
You may observe changes in the Mastercard Digital Enablement Fees assessed for larger ticket size transactions. We recommend reviewing current transaction volumes and fee structures to ensure a smooth transition.
These fee changes apply only to transactions originated in Canada. These fee changes do not apply to merchants who are not located in Canada.
Note: Card-not-present (CNP) authorizations declined due to insufficient funds (DE 39 = 51), are currently excluded from the DEF assessment. This exclusion will be removed in Canada effective 2 February 2026.
